disappearing act

Sorry I have been MIA for quite awhile.

Troy and I actually planned a little getaway awhile back and we just got back from......VEGAS!!!

We had a great time, but are now both nursing colds.  Must be the change in weather....or all the germs on the plane.

This trip I decided not to take my camera, which I am totally regretting now.  I just didn't want to carry it around everywhere while I was there.

We headed out to Red Rock Canyon, which by the way is THE most beautiful place I have ever seen.  It is soooo quiet and peaceful out there.  We love the drive out there and the drive through the canyons.

(not sure who to give credit to for the great photo...found it online)

While we were there we saw these cute little scooters.
I only wish we would have seen them BEFORE we went through the canyon and we definitely would have taken these on the tour instead of our car.  If anyone is going out there I would highly suggest it.  They looked like a ton of fun!

We did the usual walking through some casinos, losing some money, eating In-n-Out Burgers, eating at the Rio Village Buffet (which was delicious), and of course some shopping.

Then, on our last night there we did something that we have wanted to do on our last 15 trips to Vegas.  We finally took the plunge and bought tickets to go see Cirque du Soleil Mystere.  It was AMAZING!!!!!!  If you question going to see a Cirque show, you know, is it worth the money?  It totally is!  Troy is not into shows at all and he seemed to be pretty amazed by it.  I would suggest however not sitting in the front.  Always sit up in the back, because there is so much going on throughout the show to look at.  If we would have been in the front few rows we would have constantly been looking up, which is what the guy told us when we bought the tickets.  Also, as a little side note, unless you are a very willing participant, DO NOT SIT IN THE FRONT ROW!  You just may get picked on a little.

Anyways, this show was so good.  The next one on my list is O at the Bellagio.  I think these tickets only run about $200 per person, which explains why I haven't been to that one yet.

Mystere is actually the first Cirque Du Soleil show that was brought to Las Vegas.  So my suggestion is to go to this one first if you are going to start seeing these shows.  I have heard that once you have see Ka or Love you will be disappointed in this one.  But this was our first experience and Love wasn't available for the night we wanted to go, so we picked this one and it did not disappoint for me.  Those people must love their job!  It looked like so much fun!

We just got back yesterday and I'm working on catching up on laundry and cleaning.  Pretty exciting for my weekend, huh?  That's alright, it is always good to be home.  I missed Khloe soooo much.  If only we weren't sick, I would have a little more energy to run around after her.  Thankfully before I left we stopped by our old babysitters who was selling a bunch of her daycare stuff and I got tons of paints, colors, and new toys for Khloe to play with.  So she is staying plenty entertained, while we rest a bit!
