RESEARCH.
I spent many many months researching cameras. I felt like the D60 landed right in the middle of the line for cameras. Some are cheaper, some are more expensive. I wanted a camera that did what I wanted without breaking my bank account and trust me....there are some out there that could break your bank account.
There is no "one size fits all" for picking out a camera. Know what you want and keep searching until you are happy with what you find.
