new daycare.....

.....complete SUCCESS!!!

It is soooo refreshing to FINALLY have a new daycare that Khloe is happy at.  She did cry today when I dropped her off, but that was to be expected since she probably didn't know where the heck I would be dropping her off next.  The sitter called at about 10:00 and said she just wanted to let me know that Khloe quit crying before we were even out of the driveway.  She had a great day doing arts and crafts, music, playing outside (riding not one, but two trikes) and reading books.  She was so excited to come home with a project to show us.  All in all I think things are going to be great!

Now on to finish out the house hunt.  It is getting closer....I can just feel it.  Hopefully we will decide on something soon and be in a new house before Khloe's birthday (which was my goal).  As I sit here and type the lovely dogs next door continue to bark and I continue to plot ways to kill quiet them (sorry for all you dog lovers....I love them too, but not when they wake my family up during the night).  The past couple of nights I have taken to screaming out the window "Shut up dogs."  Effective, right?  Especially now that my two year old daughter yells as we walk by the house "Shut up dogs."  I can't help but encourage her to keep yelling.  They bark NONSTOP.  Don't they have like bark collars or something available these days?  I told Troy I would volunteer to run next door during the night and slip them on.  I have interviewed everyone up and down the street....except for the scary house across from us....and everyone gets annoyed.  In fact the house directly across the street is now for sale and I am convinced that they couldn't take the barking anymore.

My new project that I have been teasing about is on the horizon of being finished.  Give me a couple of weeks and things should be finished out for the unveiling!  I can't wait after all of the planning and waiting and working.  I think I'll do a teaser week leading up to the big reveal.  Isn't there a game show or something where they show tiny parts of items and you are supposed to guess what it is?  Maybe not a game show....I'm probably totally off my rocker on that one.  Anyways it will be a new game I invented then and it will be fun....at least for me.  hee hee

stress

We start ANOTHER new daycare tomorrow.  The scheduling at the other daycare just was not working out so we had to move to another one.  I'm not looking forward to starting the tears all over again....although Khloe was still crying everyday while going to the last daycare.  That always makes moms day go well at work! :)

Troy and I are still both fighting our colds and cannot seem to get over them.  We may have a small lead on a house, which is what I have been busy working on all week.  Every spare second has been spent drawing out plans and figuring out costs....uggghhhh.  I can't wait until we make a decision!  Hopefully by the end of the week.

Well we are headed outside to do a little trike riding while the weather stays nice.....

anger has set in

I'm really starting to get angry at the IKEA people.  Don't they know I wait all year for this?

I've been waiting and waiting and it still hasn't come.  So I went on their site and ordered three more today.  Hopefully they get the picture and don't just get mad and not send me any.  Don't they know I have been waiting to take my trip to IKEA until I get my catalog?  Not really....I'm actually waiting for a house.....but I could be planning in the meantime.

lazy sunday

You want to know one of the best parts of my vacation?

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and I'm sure part of Monday will be fabulous as well (until I have to work in the afternoon).

Is that pathetic that I went to Las Vegas from Monday - Thursday and I've enjoyed my days at home just as much?  This is the first time I actually took a few days off from work after I got home from vacation and I've found it is the best thing ever. Usually I would have headed back to work bright and early Friday, and boy am I glad I didn't.  Troy and I both have colds (he is asleep in bed right now and it is 2:30 in the afternoon....a sure sign he is sick) so we really have just been hanging out doing nothing but playing with Khloe and resting.

We did actually get up this morning and started really organizing the duplex.  I'm sure we had some good inspiration, as our bedroom is freezing cold and there were boxes floor to midway up the wall blocking our electric heater.  The only solution was to move them.  The only room left to organize is the basement.  Right now it is kinda in ruins.  The good news is that the base of my treadmill is in it's new position and now I just need the top put on.  Wonder what my excuse will be once it is ready to use?

Khloe has been painting up a storm since we got her new table and paints.  Thank goodness because the laziness has set in this afternoon for me and nothing sounds better this gloomy day than sitting in my overstuffed chair with a blanket covering me, watching "The Little Mermaid," and cruising the internet.  Which leads me to my Amazon order that needs to be finished.

These are the books I'm looking at ordering

I know....it isn't really a nice title....and I'm not really fat, just a few 5 or 10 pounds to lose.  But I do really like Jackie Warner, for some unknown, odd reason.  She is just so no nonsense.  And who can't resist a title that says "How to get thin forever," even though I'm pretty sure I have about 10 other books like this in storage.

This one is a little bit nicer.  It is the follow up to "Gorgeously Green."  I loved that book and my sister recently got this one and I'm interested in trying to make my own laundry soap, so I think I'll give it a whirl.

I'm sure I need one more thing to finish out my order.  It can't be Zotz or gummy peaches though, because I got those last time and I thought Troy would have me hung.  He has been trying to get me to lay off the candy.  I'm kind of an addict.

Well back to surfing....hope everyone is having a terrific lazy Sunday like me!

disappearing act

Sorry I have been MIA for quite awhile.

Troy and I actually planned a little getaway awhile back and we just got back from......VEGAS!!!

We had a great time, but are now both nursing colds.  Must be the change in weather....or all the germs on the plane.

This trip I decided not to take my camera, which I am totally regretting now.  I just didn't want to carry it around everywhere while I was there.

We headed out to Red Rock Canyon, which by the way is THE most beautiful place I have ever seen.  It is soooo quiet and peaceful out there.  We love the drive out there and the drive through the canyons.

(not sure who to give credit to for the great photo...found it online)

While we were there we saw these cute little scooters.
I only wish we would have seen them BEFORE we went through the canyon and we definitely would have taken these on the tour instead of our car.  If anyone is going out there I would highly suggest it.  They looked like a ton of fun!

We did the usual walking through some casinos, losing some money, eating In-n-Out Burgers, eating at the Rio Village Buffet (which was delicious), and of course some shopping.

Then, on our last night there we did something that we have wanted to do on our last 15 trips to Vegas.  We finally took the plunge and bought tickets to go see Cirque du Soleil Mystere.  It was AMAZING!!!!!!  If you question going to see a Cirque show, you know, is it worth the money?  It totally is!  Troy is not into shows at all and he seemed to be pretty amazed by it.  I would suggest however not sitting in the front.  Always sit up in the back, because there is so much going on throughout the show to look at.  If we would have been in the front few rows we would have constantly been looking up, which is what the guy told us when we bought the tickets.  Also, as a little side note, unless you are a very willing participant, DO NOT SIT IN THE FRONT ROW!  You just may get picked on a little.

Anyways, this show was so good.  The next one on my list is O at the Bellagio.  I think these tickets only run about $200 per person, which explains why I haven't been to that one yet.

Mystere is actually the first Cirque Du Soleil show that was brought to Las Vegas.  So my suggestion is to go to this one first if you are going to start seeing these shows.  I have heard that once you have see Ka or Love you will be disappointed in this one.  But this was our first experience and Love wasn't available for the night we wanted to go, so we picked this one and it did not disappoint for me.  Those people must love their job!  It looked like so much fun!

We just got back yesterday and I'm working on catching up on laundry and cleaning.  Pretty exciting for my weekend, huh?  That's alright, it is always good to be home.  I missed Khloe soooo much.  If only we weren't sick, I would have a little more energy to run around after her.  Thankfully before I left we stopped by our old babysitters who was selling a bunch of her daycare stuff and I got tons of paints, colors, and new toys for Khloe to play with.  So she is staying plenty entertained, while we rest a bit!

lots of thoughts

Tomorrow is my open house at my new salon!  I'm really excited and hope to have a good turnout.  I'm headed to the salon bright and early to blow up over 50 balloons (hopefully they all get used).  Everyone that comes gets to pick a balloon for a % off their purchase.  Should be fun...unless I get tired of hearing balloons popping! :)

We haven't really been up to much else around here lately.  I have been checking the realtor websites about 5 times a day and haven't found really any house that interests us.  I'm starting to worry just a little bit about Khloe's birthday.  I have some really big plans for the party this year and am a little worried where all the decorations are going to go....as well as where all the people are going to sit!  I have a few more months, hopefully some great house will come up that we just can't resist.

I did manage to pick Khloe out a cute little outfit for her fall pictures this year.  I can't wait to get it on her and start snapping!  I miss my camera!  I feel like I haven't picked it up in months.  Now we just have to wait for the leaves to change.

I've been a really really lazy blogger lately, only because I have some exciting plans coming up that I have been doing a lot of work on at night.  This has been about a 6 months in the making and I'm excited that the reveal is getting close!  By the first of November everyone will get a peek at what I've been working on!  I can't wait!  Trust me....if everything goes well it will make up for my lack of blogging!  At least I think so! :)
